Borong — Officials in Manggarai Timur reported on 8 October 2026 that verification and validation of earthquake-affected homes had been completed. Secretary of Manggarai Timur, who also led the regency’s emergency earthquake command post, said the results had been published for follow-up action.
The first-stage data covered 24.392 homes affected by the Flores earthquake. The reported breakdown was 7.516 heavily damaged homes, 6.039 moderately damaged homes and 10.837 lightly damaged homes.
The first-stage enumeration, verification and data entry were conducted from 1 to 9 September 2026. The results were recorded in the Manggarai Timur regent’s circular on the publication of verification and validation results for homes affected by the magnitude 7,7 earthquake.
Why it matters to Flores readers
The verification is the administrative basis for identifying affected households and determining follow-up recovery measures in Manggarai Timur. The process also gives residents and local administrations a published record against which damage claims can be checked.
Data supplied by villages were checked by regency enumerators against the condition of homes in the field before being entered into the Sigap Matim application. The regency later reviewed objections and recorded the final first-stage results in a regent’s decree dated 22 September 2026.
The report said the results were published so they could be known and used as a basis for joint follow-up action. It also said a later stage covered additional verification and validation work, with the results published by the Manggarai Timur administration.
