Flores — PLN reported on 7 October 2026 that electricity service across Flores had been restored to 100 percent after the magnitude 7.7 earthquake in the Flores Sea on 15 August 2026.
PLN said its disaster-response standby period ran from 15 August to 28 September 2026. During that period, personnel worked to restore the electricity network and support affected communities.
The company said its humanitarian assistance reached nine regencies on Flores: Manggarai Barat, Manggarai, Manggarai Timur, Ngada, Nagekeo, Ende, Sikka, Flores Timur and Lembata.
The assistance included basic supplies, medicines, mother-and-child equipment, cleaning materials, tents, tarpaulins, mats, mattresses and blankets, according to the report. PLN also provided free electricity tokens for evacuation posts.
The programme included psychosocial support and books for children at evacuation locations, the report said. PLN said it was maintaining a safe and reliable electricity supply during the recovery.
Why it matters to Flores readers
The restoration affects electricity users across the island and covers communities in all nine regencies listed by PLN. The aid distribution also links the electricity provider’s emergency response with support for residents displaced or affected by the earthquake.
Earlier reporting said the earthquake affected electricity infrastructure and prompted restoration work across Flores. The 7 October update added PLN’s statement that the island-wide electricity network had returned to 100 percent and detailed the nine-regency aid programme.
