Manggarai Barat — Farmers introduced local garden produce and processed food products at a Market Day held at Rekas Market, Kempo village, Mbeliling subdistrict, Manggarai Barat, on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, according to RRI.
The event, titled “Naka Ici One Uma”, brought farmers together to sell directly to consumers, identify consumer needs and explore cooperation with prospective business partners. RRI reported that the programme was intended to widen market access and increase farm-family income.
The Market Day was organised through the Flores Empowerment for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation programme, or FEAST!, in collaboration with DBS Foundation and Humanis, with field support from the Coalition of People for Food Sovereignty and the Association of Women’s Small and Micro Business Assistants. RRI said participating farmers had spent one year learning about climate-smart agriculture, farm-business management, financial planning, gender equality and family nutrition.
Visitors could access three areas: Lapak Tani, where farmers sold garden produce and processed local food; La’bak, an education space covering local food, nutrition and sustainable agriculture; and Kelas Terampil Petani, which covered product identification, prospective buyers, pricing and digital promotion.
