Labuan Bajo — The West Manggarai District Prosecutor’s Office opened a free legal-service desk at Marina Port in Labuan Bajo on Friday, October 9, 2026, as part of an outreach programme for people using and working in the port.

Why it matters: Tourists, port workers, businesses and vessel owners can seek free legal information at the KSOP integrated-service facility or through Halo JPN.

The office introduced its legal-service programme and Halo JPN, or State Attorney Legal Counsel, during the event. The service allows members of the public to ask about legal issues without charge, according to Pos-Kupang.

The outreach targeted foreign and domestic tourists, travel agents, business operators and vessel owners active in the marina, the report said. Prosecutors described the approach as direct outreach to people at the port rather than a service limited to visitors to the prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor’s office is working with the Labuan Bajo Harbourmaster and Port Authority, known locally as KSOP, to provide a legal-service post at the authority’s One-Stop Integrated Service facility. The Indonesian facility is called Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Atap, or PTSA.

The prosecutor’s civil and administrative-law division said the service is open to the general public, not only businesses or government institutions. The office said consultations cover legal questions and problems raised by users of the service.

Halo JPN is also available online. Radio Republik Indonesia reported that the service allows residents to submit legal questions through the Halo JPN platform without visiting the prosecutor’s office, with a stated response target of up to three times 24 hours.

What the service covers

  • Free legal information and consultations.
  • Access for tourists, travel agents, businesses, vessel owners and other members of the public.
  • In-person access through the PTSA facility at the KSOP office, alongside the online Halo JPN platform.

The service is focused on civil and administrative matters, according to the Radio Republik Indonesia report. Examples listed in that report include land, inheritance, marriage, debt, company formation and employment issues.
