Labuan Bajo — Cafe Ghaura Coklat was promoting locally produced chocolate and coffee to visitors on 3 October 2026, according to a report published that day.

Owner Ignasius Charles Angliwarman said the café had been operating for about two months in Jalan Alo Tanis, Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Barat. He described the business as a way to introduce products linked to plantations in East Nusa Tenggara to tourists.

The café’s menu uses names associated with destinations in the region. Reported examples include Pink Beach Smoothies, Ghaura Komodo, Ghaura Hot Chocolate and Ghaura Ice Chocolate Biscoff.

Charles said the concept was intended to connect visitors’ experience of the products with the attractions they visit. He said visitors to Labuan Bajo could find chocolate and coffee as well as the Komodo attraction.

Why it matters to Labuan Bajo visitors

The café offers a visitor-economy example in which local food and drink are presented alongside tourism destinations. The report said the business was seeking to broaden the tourism experience beyond sightseeing by introducing products from East Nusa Tenggara.

The report said visitors included domestic and international tourists, with international guests coming particularly from Europe, Australia, China and South Korea. Chocolate origin products and hot chocolate were among the items identified as popular.

The article identified Labuan Bajo as the capital of West Manggarai Regency and as a gateway to Komodo Island. It did not report a government rule, fee, closure or later action connected with the café.
