Borong — SMAN 3 Borong resumed student competitions in Jawang after activities had been postponed following post-earthquake restrictions. The programme brought students back into language, arts and academic competitions at the senior high school in Borong. The school also organised a blood-donation activity described as trauma support for students affected by the Flores earthquake.
The programme included the Lomba Debat Bulan Bahasa, a language debate competition involving students at the school. Gracia is identified as a participant who faced a fellow student in the debate contest. The event therefore combined academic and language activities with other student competitions held after the restrictions affecting school activities.
The resumption of competitions shows education activities being restored in an earthquake-affected part of Flores. Returning to competitions gave students an opportunity to take part in school programmes again after the postponement. The activities also connected the school’s programme with support for students dealing with the effects of the disaster.
The blood-donation activity formed part of that support for students affected by the earthquake. Together, the competitions and donation activity reflected the school’s efforts to resume student programmes while addressing the effects experienced by students after the Flores earthquake. The activities took place in Jawang, Borong, at SMAN 3 Borong.
