Flores — The newly dated October 27 BNPB emergency-response dashboard figures recorded 156 deaths and 1,620 people injured or sick in the earthquake sequence, while the East Nusa Tenggara government recorded 102,243 affected homes.
Floresa reported that the dashboard figures were provisional and subject to updates and field verification. The provincial housing tally comprised 26,959 heavily damaged homes, 23,137 moderately damaged homes and 52,147 lightly damaged homes.
Tirto separately reported the BNPB figure of 156 deaths in coverage dated September 28, but its report concerned an earlier data point and did not state the October 27 dashboard total of 1,620 people injured or sick. Floresa’s October 25 report also stated the provincial figure of 102,243 affected homes and the same damage breakdown.
Why the figures matter to Flores readers
The figures indicate the scale of continuing recovery needs across Flores and East Nusa Tenggara. The housing count covers affected homes rather than only homes classified as damaged, so the three damage categories should be read as the province’s reported breakdown of that total.
The death figure also includes the cumulative toll attributed to the earthquake sequence, while the dashboard’s wording groups injured and sick people together. BNPB, the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency, cautioned that dashboard data could change as authorities update records and verify conditions in the field.
The reports do not state a subsequent deadline, reconstruction timetable or new government measure. The next confirmed development is therefore a possible revision of the provisional dashboard and provincial figures after further verification.
