Bulog says NTT quake aid reached 1,321.55 tons of rice

Jakarta — Bulog said it had delivered 1,321.55 tons of rice and 7,000 liters of cooking oil to communities affected by an earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara by Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, according to Indonesian news reports that quoted the state logistics agency’s chief, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani.

The aid had reached seven affected areas: Ende, Sikka, Manggarai, East Manggarai, Nagekeo, Ngada and West Manggarai, the reports said. Bulog also said cooking-oil distribution had reached 100% of its target, although the target volume was not specified in the reports.

Bulog broke the rice aid down into 881.98 tons from the government emergency rice reserve, 101.8 tons from regional food reserves and 472.98 tons from the rice food-assistance program, according to the same reports. Those figures add up to 1,456.76 tons, which does not match the stated total of 1,321.55 tons.

The discrepancy means the reported categories cannot be reconciled from the available figures alone. The reports do not explain whether the breakdown refers to a different reporting period, whether any items overlap, or whether one of the figures was misstated.

Separately, the Agriculture Ministry said it was focused not only on immediate food distribution but also on restoring agricultural production and supporting affected farming communities, according to reports quoting Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman. Amran said assessments of crop damage on Flores were still underway.

The reports frame the response as both emergency relief and early recovery for farmers in the affected part of Flores Island. They do not provide a regency-by-regency allocation, the number of households served, or a transport breakdown for the deliveries.
