Labuan Bajo — — KM Tatamailau is scheduled to operate on eastern Indonesian routes between 1 and 21 September 2026, but the published September schedules do not list Maumere among its ports of call. Travellers seeking a direct sailing to or from Maumere cannot rely on these September voyage tables alone for confirmation.
The 7 September 2026 travel report from Tribun Flores describes KM Tatamailau as a Pelni passenger ship serving two regular routes in eastern Indonesia, labelled Trayek A and Trayek B. The regular ports listed for these routes are Bitung, Tidore, Tobelo, Sorong, Fakfak, Kaimana, Tual, Dobo, Timika, Agats, Merauke, Ambon and Ternate. Maumere does not appear in either route description.
September 2026 voyages and ports
According to Tribun Flores, KM Tatamailau sails within a 1–21 September 2026 window, covering Timika, Dobo, Tual, Ambon, Ternate, Bitung and Merauke on the September schedule. A separate Tribun Flores article dated 2 September 2026 sets out detailed arrival and departure times for a sequence of port calls between 1 and 7 September, including Timika, Dobo, Tual, Kaimana, Fakfak, Sorong, Tobelo, Tidore and Bitung, using WIT and WITA time zones.
Further schedules from other outlets show how the ship continues after 7 September. A Papua-based Tribun site reports that Voyage 14 in September 2026 uses Route B, running Bitung–Ternate–Ambon–Tual–Dobo–Timika–Merauke–Timika–Dobo–Tual–Ambon–Ternate–Bitung, with detailed times for calls at Tual, Dobo and Timika between 11 and 12 September.
Additional coverage of the Tual–Merauke leg notes a 13:00 departure from Tual on 11 September, arrivals and departures at Dobo and Timika, and arrival at Merauke on 14 September, with a total duration of around three days and three hours.
None of these September voyage descriptions include Maumere as a scheduled stop, and none of the regular route patterns for KM Tatamailau list Maumere among the ports served. On the basis of the published September timetables, Maumere is not part of Voyage 13 or Voyage 14.
Regular routes: Trayek A and Trayek B
Tribun Flores and other regional outlets describe KM Tatamailau’s regular network as two patterns. Trayek A runs Bitung–Tidore–Tobelo–Sorong–Fakfak–Kaimana–Tual–Dobo–Timika and then returns via Dobo, Tual, Kaimana, Fakfak, Sorong and Tobelo back to Bitung. Trayek B runs Bitung–Ternate–Ambon–Tual–Dobo–Timika–Agats–Merauke and then returns via Agats, Timika, Dobo, Tual, Ambon and Ternate to Bitung.
These route descriptions define KM Tatamailau as a ship focused on Maluku and Papua connections, linking North Sulawesi with Maluku and Papua ports. They also confirm that Maumere, on Flores, is outside the regular network described for this vessel.
Tickets, fares and planning a journey
The 7 September 2026 report states that tickets for KM Tatamailau can be bought through the Pelni Mobile application, the Pelni website, ticket counters and authorised agents. Tribun Flores and other outlets list sample economy fares for September 2026, such as Dobo–Fakfak, Bitung–Tobelo, Ternate–Merauke, Merauke–Bitung, Sorong–Dobo, Ambon–Ternate and Tual–Merauke. These fares vary by route and do not include any Maumere segment.
Given the absence of Maumere from the September schedules and the regular routes, travellers wishing to reach Flores by sea during that period should first verify whether another Pelni ship, rather than KM Tatamailau, serves Maumere. The most practical approach is to search the intended departure and arrival ports through Pelni’s official booking channels, then confirm the results at a Pelni counter or with an authorised agent.
For anyone planning a complex itinerary that combines flights and sea travel in eastern Indonesia, the September 2026 KM Tatamailau tables show confirmed connections among ports in Maluku, Papua and North Sulawesi. However, they do not establish a direct link to Maumere, and connecting transport should not be booked on the assumption that KM Tatamailau will serve Flores during this period without separate confirmation.
