Labuan Bajo — The Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) forecast a brief chance of rain in Labuan Bajo on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, with the highest potential in the afternoon. The forecast described conditions in the town as cloudy, with temperatures of 23–32 degrees Celsius and humidity of 69–92 percent.

BMKG also forecast varied conditions across Flores and surrounding areas, ranging from cloudy weather to light rain. A separate report citing the BMKG El Tari Meteorological Station in Kupang said light rain could occur in Ba'a, Bajawa, Ruteng, Waibakul and Waikabubak from afternoon into evening.

The same BMKG station forecast generally cloudy or partly cloudy conditions in Nusa Tenggara Timur during the morning, night and early hours. Temperatures across the province were expected to range from 20 to 35 degrees Celsius, while Manggarai, Ngada and other highland areas were forecast to be cooler, at 17–28 degrees Celsius.

Why it matters to travellers

The Labuan Bajo forecast points to a possible short rain spell during the afternoon, while conditions elsewhere on Flores were expected to vary. That matters for visitors planning outdoor activities or travel between destinations on 28 October 2026, because the forecast was not uniform across the island.

BMKG’s broader three-day early-warning information for Nusa Tenggara Timur, reported by the provincial agriculture and food-crops office, placed all rain-warning categories at NIL for 28–30 October 2026 and identified no area with a strong-wind warning. The information was valid from 08.00 WITA (UTC+8) until 08.00 WITA the following day for each warning date.

The absence of an early warning did not mean every area would remain clear throughout the day. The provincial report said dry-season conditions remained active and that dry weather could increase the risk of forest and land fires.
