Driver Dies as Dump Truck Crashes in Manggarai Barat

Manggarai Barat — A Mitsubishi dump truck crashed into a 50-metre ravine on Jalan Raya Golo Welu in Nantal, Kuwus, Manggarai Barat, on Monday, 28 September 2026, at about 06:20 WITA (UTC+8). Fikardus Sandro Seda, 35, who was driving, died at the scene, according to Tribun Kupang and TribunFlores.

Fransiskus Seda, 61, was travelling in the truck and suffered injuries. He received treatment at Golo Welu Community Health Centre before being referred to Komodo Regional General Hospital in Labuan Bajo, the reports said.

Police identified the vehicle as a six-wheeled Mitsubishi HDP 125 dump truck with registration EB 8287 GH. The truck was found below the road after leaving the carriageway, while residents and police helped evacuate the two occupants.
