Labuan Bajo — The Ministry of Tourism and the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority held a dialogue with liveaboard operators at Carpenter Cafe, Pantai Pede, on 1 October 2026.
The meeting also involved the Manggarai Barat tourism, creative economy and culture office, along with representatives of tourism associations. The forum was intended to strengthen coordination, communication and collaboration in developing tourism in Labuan Bajo.
Why the dialogue matters to Labuan Bajo readers
The discussion gave local marine-tourism businesses a forum to present their experiences, feedback and concerns about liveaboard operations. The reported participants included Jaringan Kapal Rekreasi (JANGKAR), Gabungan Pengusaha Wisata Bahari dan Tirta Indonesia (GAHAWISRI), Dive Operators Community Komodo (DOCK) and Asosiasi Kapal Wisata (ASKAWI).
The Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority said tourism development requires direct input from businesses operating in the field. The authority said the meeting could support open communication and help turn industry feedback into material for strengthening Labuan Bajo’s tourism ecosystem.
According to the report, the concerns raised during the forum will be used for further coordination with relevant ministries and agencies. The event therefore connected national and local tourism officials with associations representing marine-tourism operators in Labuan Bajo.
