Labuan Bajo — Komodo National Park now charges foreign visitors a flat IDR 250,000 per person per visit under Government Regulation No. 36 of 2024, while Indonesian visitors pay IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 on weekends and public holidays, according to tourism and park-information sources that cite the regulation.
The park-wide visitor cap is 1,000 people per day, enforced from 1 April 2026 through the SiOra booking system, according to a local report and park-information pages that describe the same rule.
What the fee covers
The entry fee is separate from boat, crew and transport costs, which are set by operators. That means a quoted liveaboard or day-trip price can still leave out harbour charges, guide services, meals, gear and other add-ons.
One park-information source says the fee applies to park entry rather than to a specific island route, while another explains that visitors may still face separate charges for ranger or trekking services depending on the site.
For practical planning, the safest approach is to ask operators for an itemised breakdown showing park entry, boat services and any local add-ons before paying.
Other charges visitors may see
Independent travel sources also report additional fees for diving, drone use, photography and harbour access, but they do not present those charges identically. Because of that variation, travellers should treat package prices cautiously and confirm what is included for the exact date and route.
The same sources say harbour fees, ranger payments and trekking charges are often collected separately from the main park ticket. They also note that payment arrangements can differ by operator, which can make a cheap headline price misleading if it excludes government and port costs.
Booking and access
Visitors and tour operators are being directed to use SiOra for advance reservation, and the daily cap applies across the park rather than as a separate quota for each island. Reports also say the limit is managed in timed sessions during the day.
For travellers heading to Komodo, Padar or Rinca, that means a confirmed boat booking does not automatically guarantee park access unless the entry reservation has also been secured for the intended date.
Why confusion persists
Travel websites continue to publish different breakdowns of the park charges, especially for Indonesian visitors and for add-on ranger or trekking fees. Some pages describe the fee as a simple daily entry tariff, while others split the visit into several components.
What is consistent across the sources is the current foreign visitor price of IDR 250,000 and the separate nature of transport-related costs. What is less consistent is how each operator or guide package labels the additional charges.
Travellers should therefore ask for a written receipt or quotation that lists the park ticket, any harbour or ranger fee, and the services included in the boat package.
