Manggarai — Air Terjun Tengku Siwa is presented as a nature destination in Sambor Village, Reok Barat District, Manggarai Regency, for visitors travelling to Flores and Labuan Bajo, according to Tribunnews.com in a report dated 21 October 2026.

The report places the waterfall in northern Flores and says it is about two hours from Ruteng towards northern Manggarai. From Kajong, the route continues to Sambor Village, with the journey to the entrance taking 30 minutes. Visitors then walk for about one hour through rice fields and over steps to reach the waterfall.

The same report says the site has a moss-covered cliff of approximately 70 metres. Water flow increases during the rainy season, while the area is surrounded by trees, hills and community rice fields. It also says the site has no rest area or food and drink stalls.

Why it matters to Komodo readers

Tengku Siwa offers a northern Manggarai stop for travellers connecting Ruteng, Flores and Labuan Bajo. The reported access time and the absence of visitor facilities are relevant for anyone assessing the destination as part of an overland itinerary.

Independent supporting reports place Tengku Siwa in Sambor or Nggalak in Reok Barat, Manggarai. The Indonesian tourism ministry’s Jadesta directory describes the waterfall as being reached by a half-hour walk and records a drop of more than 70 metres. A Superlive report gives a different estimate, saying the journey from Ruteng can take about four hours because of road and walking conditions.

The differing travel estimates mean the route should be treated as variable. The reports do not state a formal opening date, closure, ticket price or planned infrastructure project.
