Wae Rebo and Komodo islands: which official charges and figures differ?
Wae Rebo and Komodo’s islands are separate destinations with different official charges: one village tariff, one park fee and a provincial statistic that does not count individual spots.

For travellers comparing Flores sites, Wae Rebo has a published village tariff, while Komodo National Park has a separate public entrance charge and access system. Indonesia’s tourism portal lists Wae Rebo at IDR 225,000 for a day visit or IDR 325,000 for an overnight stay, while the park’s official tariff source lists IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor under the 2024 fee regulation.
Is Wae Rebo part of Komodo National Park?
No. Wae Rebo is a traditional village in the Flores highlands, whereas Padar, Pink Beach and other marine stops around Labuan Bajo are associated with Komodo National Park. Indonesia Travel describes the walk from Denge village to Wae Rebo as approximately 3–4 hours on foot, according to Indonesia Travel, 2025.
How much does a Wae Rebo visit cost?
Indonesia’s official tourism portal lists a day-visit tariff of IDR 225,000 per person, including meals and a welcome drink. It lists IDR 325,000 per person for an overnight stay in an Mbaru Niang, including meals, a folding mattress and a blanket, according to Indonesia Travel, 2025.
The same official page lists local guide services at IDR 250,000 per person. These are village-visit figures, not Komodo National Park entrance fees.
What is the Komodo National Park entrance fee?
The park’s official tariff page states that foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000 per person per visit under Government Regulation No. 36/2024, effective 30 October 2024, according to the Komodo National Park authority. Indonesian citizens are listed at IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 on weekends and public holidays, according to the same authority.
The park tariff applies to the protected area and should not be combined with Wae Rebo’s village tariff as if they were one ticket. Padar, Pink Beach and Kanawa also should not be treated as interchangeable with Wae Rebo: the former are island or marine destinations, while Wae Rebo is an inland cultural site.
What does the regional tourism data count?
BPS East Nusa Tenggara recorded 25,155 international tourist visits to the province in July 2025, according to BPS, 2025. That figure counts provincial international tourist visits; it is not a separate visitor total for Wae Rebo, Padar, Pink Beach or Kanawa.
The distinction matters when comparing demand or costs. A village tariff, a protected-area entrance fee and a provincial tourism statistic describe different things and cannot be read as one combined price or destination count.
