Kupang — East Nusa Tenggara is forecast to be generally clear to partly cloudy on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with BMKG warning of possible light rain, fog and strong winds in some areas.
The forecast was issued by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and described by Pos-Kupang.com as applying from morning through night. Afternoon light rain is possible in Lewoleba and Tambolaka.
Fog is forecast around So'e, Ende, Bajawa and Ruteng, particularly during the early hours. Provincial temperatures are expected to range from 21 to 34 degrees Celsius.
Manggarai, Ngada and other highland areas may be cooler, with temperatures of 14 to 27 degrees Celsius. Winds are forecast from the north-east to south-west at about 5 to 30 kilometres per hour.
Why the forecast matters to Komodo readers
The forecast covers weather conditions across East Nusa Tenggara, the province that includes Komodo National Park. Clear conditions may dominate, but the reported risks of fog and strong winds are relevant to people travelling or working outdoors in the province.
A separate BMKG-based report lists light-rain potential in Alor, West Manggarai and Southwest Sumba, while some districts are forecast to reach 34 degrees Celsius. The reports do not state any closure or other operational change for Komodo National Park.
