Komodo Park Enforces Fivefold Fine for Ticketless Entry

Labuan Bajo — The Komodo National Park Authority (BTNK) said visitors entering Komodo National Park without a valid ticket face an administrative fine of five times the applicable normal admission rate, under a notice dated 23 September 2026.

BTNK said every visitor must hold a valid admission ticket matching the activity undertaken in the park. The rule applies to visitors and vehicles entering the national park without an admission ticket.

The fine is charged per person per day for visitors and per vehicle per day for vehicles, according to the reported BTNK announcement. The report did not state a single rupiah amount because the penalty depends on the normal ticket rate applicable to the visitor or vehicle.

Why the rule matters to Komodo visitors

The requirement affects anyone entering Komodo National Park, including visitors whose activity requires a ticket category matched to that activity. A ticketless entry can therefore create an additional administrative charge rather than simply resulting in denied access.

Detik reported that the authority introduced the measure after officers continued to find visitors entering the park without tickets. BTNK also reiterated that visitors must follow the park’s visit procedures while inside the conservation area.

The official park visitor protocol lists entry without purchasing an admission or activity ticket as a prohibited act. The protocol also says sanctions are administered by BTNK for violations of the visitor rules.
