Labuan Bajo — Labuan Bajo is forecast to be clear and hot on Sunday, 20 September 2026, with temperatures around the low 30s Celsius in the town area, according to Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).

BMKG’s local forecast page for Labuan Bajo in Komodo subdistrict, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara, lists current conditions at midday on Sunday as 31°C with clear skies and a relative humidity of 72%, and a wind speed of about 22 km/h from the north.

Hourly and regional forecasts

The Labuan Bajo page also provides an hourly forecast for Sunday, updated at 08.00 WITA the same day, showing clear or mostly clear conditions through the day, with temperatures expected to stay near 30°C in daytime hours and ease in the evening, according to BMKG.

For wider context, BMKG’s province-wide forecast for East Nusa Tenggara, updated on 15 September 2026, lists Manggarai Barat district with clear to cloudy conditions and temperature ranges generally between the low 20s and low 30s Celsius over the displayed forecast periods, with high humidity typical of the region.

Those district-wide figures provide an overview for road journeys and travel elsewhere in Flores, but they are not a substitute for the dedicated Labuan Bajo town forecast, which remains the most relevant reference point for local conditions.

Conditions for visitors

On Sunday, visitors can expect typical late dry-season heat, high humidity and strong sun during the middle of the day. Travellers spending time outdoors are advised to take sun protection and drink water regularly, particularly during boat excursions, harbour transfers and walking tours.

Light to moderate winds in town are unlikely by themselves to disrupt sightseeing or routine harbour movements, but operators may adjust schedules based on their own safety assessments and any updated advisories.

Marine and harbour checks still needed

The Labuan Bajo land forecast does not on its own describe offshore sea conditions. BMKG’s separate maritime pages for the port of Labuan Bajo and surrounding waters list recent observations and forecasts for wind at sea, wave height, visibility and tides.

Recent entries on BMKG’s maritime pages in mid-September show light rain and low waves around Labuan Bajo port, with wind gusts occasionally increasing above baseline speeds, and relatively low sea states offshore. These examples underline the need for boat and dive operators to consult marine forecasts and any harbour notices close to departure, rather than relying only on the urban land forecast.

Sea conditions can differ significantly between the sheltered port and more exposed channels and island areas, especially when wind and swell directions change.

Planning for Sunday, 20 September

International forecast services that model Labuan Bajo’s weather for Sunday, 20 September 2026, also point to a hot day with maximum temperatures in the low- to mid-30s Celsius, high humidity and a low chance of significant rainfall, broadly consistent with BMKG’s picture of clear conditions over the town.

Travellers and marine operators using Sunday’s forecast as a planning reference should check BMKG’s live updates, local harbour or airport guidance and any operator-issued notices on the day itself, as tropical weather, wind and sea states can change quickly.
