Ngada — The East Nusa Tenggara provincial government said on 27 September 2026 that Ngada had entered a three-month emergency transition towards recovery through 16 December 2026 after the Flores earthquake.
The provincial government urged affected regencies to move from emergency response into the recovery phase, according to Tribunnews and public broadcaster RRI.
Housing-sector data collection in Ende and Sikka had reached the adjustment stage for public objections after the two regencies completed public verification, Tribunnews reported.

The update marks a shift from immediate disaster response towards recovery planning in several Flores regencies. The transition affects the timing of housing assessments and the preparation of proposals for post-disaster assistance.
RRI reported that Nagekeo formally ended its emergency-response period on 27 September 2026 and then entered an emergency transition towards recovery. The report said the decision followed discussions on prospective recipients of assistance from Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
Ngada’s three-month transition was based on Regent Decree No. 480, RRI reported. The same report said Manggarai Barat’s transition was scheduled to end on 11 October 2026, while Manggarai still had to decide whether to extend its emergency-response status or move into transition.
The provincial government also called for faster preparation of the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Plan, known as R3P. RRI reported that affected district governments were asked to validate data, complete public verification and sign proposal documents so BNPB recovery assistance could be realised.
RRI reported that basic needs, logistics and food for affected residents remained a priority during the transition. It also said local governments had been asked to accelerate temporary housing construction and determine the disaster-response status of districts that had not yet issued formal decisions.
