East Nusa Tenggara governor renews support call for Flores quake victims

Kupang — East Nusa Tenggara Governor Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena urged continued concern for Flores earthquake victims during the province’s 1 October 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony in Kupang. He said the commemoration should be expressed through care and practical action for people still facing hardship.

Melki made the remarks while serving as inspector of the provincial ceremony at the governor’s official residence square. The event carried the theme “Pancasila Pemersatu Bangsa Menuju Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil dan Makmur”.

According to Pos Kupang, Melki described Pancasila as a fundamental value and guide for life that should be applied across society. He said 1 October should challenge people to put those values into practice by caring for others, especially people experiencing difficulty.
