Larantuka — Two people died and five others were injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Sandominggo–Pantai Besar road in Larantuka, Flores Timur, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at about 18.30 WITA (UTC+8), according to FloresTribun.com citing the Flores Timur police.
The crash involved a black automatic Daihatsu Rush carrying six passengers and travelling from Sandominggo towards Pantai Besar. Police said the vehicle lost power while climbing near Bukit Fatima, then rolled into a ravine.
Police identified the dead as the driver, Ruben Riantoby, and passenger Tarsisia Dai Kitti. One victim suffered serious injuries and another sustained minor injuries, while three passengers were not injured, according to the police account.
FloresTribun.com reported on Wednesday, September 30, that three victims were still receiving treatment at RSUD Larantuka. The hospital’s acting director said one person with minor injuries had gone home at their own request.
