BMKG forecasts strong winds across NTT on 30 September

Kupang — The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions across East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

BMKG El Tari Kupang issued the forecast for 22 cities and regencies in NTT. Temperatures were forecast to range from 14–34°C, with the highest temperatures in Oelamasi and Sabu.

Strong winds of up to 37 km/jam were forecast in Kupang, Oelamasi, Sabu and Ba'a. The listed forecast showed 37 KM/JAM for Kupang, Sabu and Ba'a, while the Oelamasi entry displayed 337 KM/JAM.

Why it matters to Komodo travellers

The affected locations are outside the core Komodo–Labuan Bajo area, but the NTT-wide forecast provides regional weather context for travel planning on 30 September 2026. A separate BMKG maritime report carried by RRI said moderate waves were forecast in the waters of Komodo National Park on 30 September–1 October 2026.

The maritime forecast was attributed to BMKG Maritime Meteorological Station Tenau. Moderate waves were also expected in several NTT waters, including the Sabu-Raijua waters, northern Kupang-Rote waters and southern Timor-Rote waters.
