Scoot familiarisation programme promotes Labuan Bajo experiences

Labuan Bajo — Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority and Scoot Airlines completed a familiarisation programme for Singapore tourism promotion on 19 September 2026 in Labuan Bajo and surrounding areas.

Why it matters: The programme promotes Labuan Bajo Flores attractions to Singapore through direct visits, while the tourism authority reported that recovery after the earthquake remained uneven across affected destinations.

The latest official account, published by the tourism authority on 20 September 2026 and updated on 22 September, said the programme ran from 15 to 19 September. It involved one Singapore-based key opinion leader and three Scoot team members working as a videographer and photographer.

The programme was designed to strengthen destination promotion in Singapore and followed Scoot and The Travel Intern’s “Mystery Flight Club” travel-content concept, according to the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority.

Experiences featured

Participants visited Cunca Plias, sampled local food at Dapur Tara and Kitchen Garden, and explored Manggarai culture in Melo village. The itinerary also included Komodo National Park.

The group planted mangroves in Warloka Pesisir village and visited Rangko Cave, where activities included kayaking and swimming in the cave’s natural pool, the authority said.

The authority’s account described the programme as part of efforts to promote Labuan Bajo Flores to the Singapore market through direct experience of tourism, cultural and environmental attractions.

The authority had separately reported on 27 August that tourism activity in parts of Labuan Bajo and Flores was gradually recovering after an earthquake. It said some destinations, access routes and tourism facilities had resumed operations, while some destinations in affected areas remained temporarily closed or were still being checked.
