Komodo Park sets periodic 500-place quota adjustments
Komodo National Park Authority announced periodic quota adjustments of 500 places per day on 22 September 2026. The move does not establish a permanent 500-person daily limit.

Labuan Bajo — The Komodo National Park Authority (BTNK) announced on 22 September 2026 that visitor-quota distribution will be adjusted periodically by 500 places per day under announcement PG.46/T.17/TU/KSA.04.01/B/09/2026.
The announcement does not state that the park’s existing daily limit of 1,000 visitors has been permanently reduced to 500. BTNK said the adjustment refers to periodic quota distribution.
For September through December 2026, the distribution may take into account quota left unused in the previous month. It may also consider quota adjustments for cruise-ship visits.
Why the quota adjustment matters to visitors
The wording distinguishes a periodic allocation adjustment from a permanent park-wide reduction. Visitors therefore face a distribution rule that may vary by period, rather than a stated permanent 500-person daily ceiling.
The announcement was issued by Balai Taman Nasional Komodo, or the Komodo National Park Authority, in Labuan Bajo.
The adjustment is linked to the September–December 2026 distribution period. Unused quota from the preceding month and quota adjustments associated with cruise-ship visits may be considered.
