Labuan Bajo — Komodo Island recorded 41,806 foreign tourists and 7,850 domestic visitors in June 2026, according to official data cited in a report published on 2 October 2026.
The figures were reported by China Daily Asia, which attributed them to data from Komodo National Park. The report did not identify a separate effective date for the June visitor figures beyond the month in which the visits occurred.
The same report said Labuan Bajo recorded 340,000 foreign tourist visits in 2025, up from more than 60,000 in 2022. Those figures were also attributed to official data.
Why the June figures matter to Labuan Bajo readers
The June figures provide a current measure of the foreign and domestic visitor mix at Komodo Island, a major destination reached through Labuan Bajo. Foreign tourists outnumbered domestic visitors in the reported monthly figures.
The report also placed the June figures in the longer trend for Labuan Bajo, where foreign visits increased substantially between 2022 and 2025. It did not state a reason for the increase or announce a new visitor policy.
China Daily Asia reported that the Komodo National Park data covered visits to Komodo Island, while the Labuan Bajo figures referred to foreign tourist visits to the gateway destination. The report did not provide a separate breakdown of the 2025 Labuan Bajo total by nationality or month.
